Fact: 37.7 million women over the age of 18 watched the Super Bowl last year.
Compare this number to the 45.8 million men over the age of 18 who were watching the Super Bowl, and it kind of makes you wonder why 1) so many of the commercials are targeted exclusively to men (largely at the expense of women), and 2) why everyone still excuses the rampant sexism in the commercials because “consider the demographic.” And actually, 3) why do we think sexism is okay when the ladies aren’t (at least, in theory) watching?
