Belfast Fashion: an observation
things I noticed include, but are not limited to:
- black opaque tights under denim cutoffs
- flats with said tights
- layering with short jackets
- platform heels
- short shorts
- short dresses
- short skirts (seeing a trend? … there is alot of bare leg shown)
- fedoras on guys
- Abercrombie and Fitch (who knew?)
- skinny jeans
- thick black framed glasses
- outrageously-high heels
- track/warm up pants on guys
things I didn’t see much of (of just didn’t notice)
- throwback sneakers
- baseball hats
- wedges
- strappy/summery gladiator sandals
- dresses that hit below the knee
- frayed denim cutoffs worn on their own
- sweatshirts
- school pride apparel
- girls wearing jeans out to the bars/clubs
Belfast: a Travel Note
I’ve been in Belfast, Northern Ireland for about 56 hours now and it’s definitely different than what I had expecting. With schoot out, this generally-busy college town is rather similar to Tucson in June… kinna. Here are some adjectives to describe it
- green
- COLD
- busy
- windy
- full of public transit (yay!)
- lacking cute collegiate apparel
- cold
- low drinking age (18)
- walkable
- cloudy
- cold
clearly this whole “northern ireland being cold thing” is frightening me as an Arizonan :-)
other than that it’s super fun, I’m here with my beau, and I’m learning all about the Troubles and general history/politics of the area. The accents are pretty awesome and buying things in British Pounds makes them seem marginally cheaper.

my travels, by the numbers:
- flights i attempted to get on in the last 24 hour: 2
- airports i tried to fly out of: 2
- bags that flew to phoenix without me: 3
- amount i paid to check 3 bags, 2 of which were at least 7- lbs each: $0
- nights spent at my hellhole of a house, without luggage: 1
- cups of coffee i’ve consumed: 1
- pages I wrote of my 10-pg internship paper (due Wed): 4
- pages left of Certain Girls, a novel i’m reading: 100
- miles my roomie had to drive to accomodate my travels: > 50
- hours i’m spending home: 46
